Hi there
All three Alberich files in one go. I've never done a DR before and really enjoyed getting into character . All improvement feedback welcome.

Wow! As much as I look forward to nearing these, Paul, and I truly do, it probably won't be until tomorrow morning before I begin proofing them. (I am GMT -6). Have a good night.PaulWelford wrote: ↑November 7th, 2023, 7:31 pm Hi there

You have a talent for DR, Paul. I think you should do more of them. There are just these few notes:PaulWelford wrote: ↑November 7th, 2023, 7:31 pm

PL Notes for Alberich in The Rhinegold
- (13:21) "But with the hoard / In the caverns upheaped" [the word caverns sounds like canvers to my ear]
- (13:30) "And win the whole world and its fairness." [the word 'whole' is omitted]
- (19:03) "With the hoard from the depths to the day." [I hear 'hoards'.]
- I think I can cleanly remove the 's' at the end of 'hoard' in editing. It's up to you if you want to redo the line or not.

Nice transition in your Alberich characterization from The Rhinegold through to the end of Siegfried. You've evolved him well. Just these few notes ...PaulWelford wrote: ↑November 7th, 2023, 7:31 pm

PL Notes for Alberich in Siegfried
- (1:37) "Were I still the blind ... Silly fool that I was" [The word 'the' is omitted]
- I might be able to find another instance where you've said 'the' with a similar inflection which I could copy and insert here but you might well prefer to restate the line yourself. It's up to you to decide.
- (3:05) "I will storm / Proud Walhall with Hella's hosts" [The word 'storm' sounds like 'stall' in this passage.]

Fine, fine performance of Alberich throughout all three plays in which the character appears. Minor note here. Edit at your discretion. If you'd prefer that I address in editing let me know and, in that case, I will change status from PL Notes to PLOK.PaulWelford wrote: ↑November 7th, 2023, 7:31 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/redrun/niblung_alberich_twilight.mp3
PL Note for Alberich in The Twilight of the Gods
- Hagen pronunciation at 0:09: the 'a' should sound somewhat more like that in the pronunciation guide.
- Note that I can reuse another instance of you saying 'Hagen' in place of the one here - e.g. from 0:36 or 1:11 of your recording - but the intonation might not be a perfect match. I'll leave it to your discretion as to whether you'd prefer to rerecord [just] the instance of the name Hagen that begins the stanza of lines at 0:09.

Of course it's excellent Alan. I have just one brief note for you to consider ...alanmapstone wrote: ↑November 8th, 2023, 4:17 am Gunther

PL Note for Gunther
- (1:55) "Why wake dissension and doubt?" [You inserted the word 'this' just before 'dissension']
- I think I can excise the extraneous word 'this' cleanly in editing, if you trust me to do that. Or, if you prefer, you could rerecord or edit the line yourself. If you would rather I address this in editing, please let me know and I will mark your recording PLOK "as is".

Hi Brian
I have listened to the Narration for Rhinegold and it all seems to be present and correct. So I think this will be OK for editing.
Well Done!

I believe you have a strong connection with this character and it showed in the passion with which you delivered their lines. Very nicely done! I did take notes on anything that I caught while listening to your fine performance:AgnesRobert wrote: ↑November 30th, 2023, 9:03 pm Sieglinde, Valkyrie

- 05:28 "Thou art the spring / That I used to pine for," [missing That]
- 05:34 "My heart hailed thee friend" [read as: "My heart hailed thee as friend"]
- 07:34 "And ere now thy glowing / Eye have I seen: [read as "And ere now thy glowing / Eye I have seen:"]
- 08:10 "The name of thy father was Wölfe?" [I do think that the 'W' in Wölfe should be pronounced as a 'V' in English]
- 13:27 "From off the field" [read as "Far off the field"]
Thank you.
