Thanks, Elijah! Hopefully I can keep you laughing through the rest of the book. The author provides lots of opportunities. I'm anxious to hear how all of our voices fit together.

Wow, thanks so much! Okay, here are the revised chapters you requested:ej400 wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2023, 3:29 pm Hey there! I've listened to all of your Aunt Plenty lines! Very well done, you have the perfect voice for her!
Chapters 2, 4, 5, 18, & 21 are all PL OK!
I do have a couple PL notes for some sections:
Chapters needing amplification (as previously mentioned) we aim for 86-92 db (as a reminder):
- Chapter 3 is at 85.2
- Chapter 16 is 85.6
- Chapter 22 is at 84.8
- Chapter 24 is at 85.5
And for Chapter 24 one PL note on the reading is a missing line for chorus 2 (just a quick line): "Yes, we will,"
Well done and excellent job!

Let me know how the volume is. I don't really know where I'm supposed to look for the "86-92 db" measurement, but I did raise them up a few notches so hopefully they'll be okay.
Thank you, Victoria. I’m happy you’re involved in this project!

Hi Faye and a big welcome to LibriVox!
Someone claimed the role of Annette before you did, but I’ll happily reserve Debby/Dolly for you. But before you record your parts, please record and upload a 1-Minute Test. This is NOT an audition, but a way to check to make sure all your technical settings are correct, your volume loud enough, etc. You will find all the information for the 1-Minute Test Recording here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test The instructions also tell you how to upload your test and then post it in the 1-Minute Test forum so someone can give you feedback on it.
Also please let me know how you would like to be credited in our catalog. Under what name? (some use a nickname or their forum name, some their real name - it's all up to you) Along with your credited name, I can also add a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one.

Have you installed the checker? https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/ This tool will let you know where your recordings are at for volume (db).stoogeswoman wrote: ↑July 25th, 2023, 4:32 pm Wow, thanks so much! Okay, here are the revised chapters you requested:

Let's say a section is right at 90.0 db. If you amplified it +1.0, it would be at 91.0 now. Your audacity will attempt to get you to that 89.0 db spot without letting it clip (too much where it will distort). So sometimes taking small spots in larger recordings and amplifying those spots will help to avoid clipping. Anyhoo... In our case here, sections 22 passes for PL OK while 3, 16, & 24 were amplified a little too loud, which is okay!
Chapter 3 is at: 92.6, so when you amplify go down about 1.6.
Chapter 16 is at: 92.1, so you really only need 0.1 down, however, a little extra (maybe 2.1), would do good since the goal is 89.0 (the range and acceptable spot is 86-92).
Chapter 24 is at: 92.8.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions at all
Thank you so much!
