The Robber’s Cave: A Tale of Italy, by Charlotte Maria Tucker (A. L. O. E.) (1821 - 1893)
While resting at an inn with his mother in the Calabrian countryside on their way to Staiti, Horace Cleveland cannot help but notice a mysterious improvasitore who frequently plays on his guitar nearby. Nobody knows who he is, and his life is an enigma to the locals.

Ignoring the warnings of the Italian innkeeper, who tells him there are thieves lurking near the road, Horace decides to travel by night—much to the dismay of both his mother and their driver, Jacomo. Before long, the three of them are ambushed by the notorious and feared banditti.

When Horace is brought to the robber’s cave, he spots the musician he saw earlier. Who is this person? What is he doing here? And what are his intentions? (Summary by DariaAM)

Hi Austyn, and a big welcome to LibriVox!

I’m so glad that your eager to contribute to this project! But before I assign you to chapters 4 and 5, please record and upload a 1-Minute Test. This is NOT an audition, but a way to check to make sure all your technical settings are correct, your volume loud enough, etc. You will all find the information on how to make a 1-Minute Test here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test. The instructions also tell you how to upload your test and then post in the appropriate forum so that someone can give you feedback on it.

After your test has been approved, please let me know, and from there I can assign you to those two chapters.

All the best,
Daria
