Hello,
I have read at the Recording Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped for 12 years and would like to volunteer at Librivox to read. What kind of equipment do I need and how do I go about beginning? I would be grateful for any help you can give me.

Hi Cindy, glad you want to help out. Please read our Newbie guide to recording - it should explain how things work: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/NewbieGuideToRecording

I'd definitely suggest going through the links Gesine provided you. However, as far as equipment, you'll need a computer (of course!), and a microphone. The wiki has some information about suggested microphones, but a quick suggestion would be to make sure you look for a USB microphone. It will most likely produce better quality for you than a non-USB, and they're not terribly expensive.
