Okay, (gulp) gonna put on the cement shoes and jump right in.

The Man Who was Thursday, a nightmare
by G. K. Chesterton

http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/1695

Fifteen chapters, I'll give myself a week per chapter, so call the due date... let's see... December 31, 2006, just in case.
EDIT: No, let's make it January 31, 2007.
EDIT EDIT: HA! June 2008. I mean 2007.

I must resist the temptation to make this a poll: "Is Zach an idiot for attempting this? A. Yes. B. Heck yes. C. Darn straight yes..."

Hi Zach! I'll be your MC. Let's see... you've already done a poem, which I heard so I know your setup is good. I've just added this project to our "to come - solos" catalog page.

How about filenames/id3 tags? It's good to lay them out ahead of time.

I suggest:
man_who_was_thursday_01_chesterton.mp3

and
Title: Chapter 01 [ - name of chapter if there is one]
Album: The Man who was Thursday
Artist: G. K. Chesterton

Um, what else... file storage until the project is complete. Do you have webspace? If not, you can try my uploader:
http://librivox.kayray.org/
password: vox
If that doesn't work, we'll find another option :)

How about making a chapter list in your first post, and marking off the completed ones as you go? That's helpful.

Other than that, have fun! :)

Thanks, kayray!

Those ideas for the ID3 tags & filenames look fine to me.

I do have web space of my own--but if it's OK with you, I'd like to use your uploader, as my web server is s...l...o...w...

I'll edit the first post as per your suggestions.

Thanks again!

Or you could just do the abridged version:

The Man Who Was Thursday
by G.K. Chesterton

So he got himself some water.

The End.

 sorry for the bad pun

Phew! Don't you hate it when real life interferes? I haven't been here in over a month, I think.

I just uploaded Chapter 00 (Dedication) to your uploader, kayray. The link is here for now, but I don't know if you'll change the file location.

Let me know if I did anything wrong, tag-wise or anything else. Thanks!

Cool :)
I made you a directory:
http://librivox.kayray.org/uploader/files/thursday/
So all your files will end up there when i get around to moving them in.
Will try to take a listen later today.

WOW! Absolutely excellent, Zach!

Nice quality, crisp and crystal clear, and wonderful expression. I read along with you and it was letter perfect. I'm so excited that you're reading this book and can't wait to hear the rest. But, take you're time even if life does interrupt, it will be totally worth the wait for us ^_^

I think Anita is right, Chesterton does seem to attract some absolutely exquisite readers here on LV and you sure don't dissappoint. I'll try to keep up with you and hopefully be able to proof as you go.

Only 15 more to go! ^_-

OK, Chapter 1 is uploading as I write this. I've edited the first post to reflect the link, once it's moved to the proper directory. If you click that and get a 404, then it hasn't been moved yet and you should try this.
