translated by L.W. King, 1902

Pretty short. Would be easy for someone to solo.

Do I remember correctly reading about a copyright problem on the translation? I can't see any problem with the website.

I did a search of book suggestions, but didn't come up with anything relevant.

Looks okay to me, too. I don't see anywhere that they've imposed their own copyright, either (not that it would be valid, anyway).

L.W. King, the translator, died in 1919. So it looks good all around...

You are probably thinking of the recent discussion over the copyright status of the Epic of Gilgamesh. I think the concensus was that we could not find a decent translation that was in the worldwide public domain. This translation of a Sumerian creation myth looks like it was translated much earlier than Gilgamesh. Should be ok.

I can't see any problem. The translation is 1902, and King died in 1919.

A search of the entire Librivox forum for "enuma" brings up nothing but this post.

At Lulu, it is published in "public domain."

This page says Seven Tablets of Creation is copyrighted as of 2007 by Filiquarian Publishing, but I don't see how, and it barely looks like a legit company.

Oops, no: the book is in the public domain, just the cover design is copyrighted by Filiquarian Publishing. I got a call back and Filiquarian confirmed this.

We're good to go, if we can find some volunteers who want to do it!

Hi,

I'd be happy to read this text. It's up my interest alley as I have a Master's in anthropology.

I've been working on an H. Beam Piper project, Uller Uprising, for which I've finished one chapter and am about to upload another.

I'm also podcasting The Hour of the Dragon (Robert E. Howard) for sffaudio.com's book challenge.

Let me know,

Morgan
