Oh dear! I am five or six edits away from being finished, but I can not edit it!  I might be a while in posting chapter two, because I have to make more storage space, or just get one of my siblings to help me. The problem is, my techy sister is dating, so she might not make any time to help me  !

Hi Iona,

in audacity you can change you temporary files directory. So if you have an drive with more soace you can direct to this.

The way (I use audacity 3.0): In the menue select Edit -> Preferences ... (or hit Ctrl + P) -> select Directories -> in the section Temporary files directory you can set a new Location.
You can see there also the Free Space you have on the selectet location.

I hope this help you.

PS: I like emoji's too.

Ummmm, soooo, it said that I did not have written permission to change it, or because the disc was full. And, wellll, it deleted it   :(
I don't know if I can recover it without making more disc room, which I can't right now. Too bad you guys don't have a bawling emoji, it would come in handy right about now! I do not look forward to recording that chapter for the third time  .

I'm sorry about that.

But maybe you can find something in audacitys temp-directorie. :hmm:

You can also post in the 'The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread' (viewtopic.php?t=40238). There are people who know more about Audacity than I do.

Hi,

I am really not good in editing, so I just applied noise reduction to the whole recording. Hoping this would suffice, for now? I really tried my very best and attempted so many times, causing delay in my re-submission. I am so sorry. huhu. :(

Hi MooMin,

Thanks. No need to apologize; you're still well within your two month limit.

There's just one thing that needs fixing before this file will be ready for Elijah to PL. The volume is too low at 77.9 dB (it needs to be between 86 and 92 dB). If you're using Audacity, you can fix this using Loudness Normalization (under Effects). Select the whole track, then go to Loudness Normalization and make sure it's set to -19LUFS and "Perceived loudness," then click "Apply." That will bring the volume up to about 90 dB. Hopefully it won't make the background noise too loud.

Please make this adjustment and reupload your file here.

Thanks,
Winnifred

Hi again MooMin,

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with editing. It does get easier with practice.

Like Section 4, this file is also a bit too quiet, at 82.9 dB. Please apply Loudness Normalization to this recording as well, and reupload it.

Thanks,
Winnifred
