I have a USB mic and used Audacity. I left everything unedited (no compression or background noise reduction) apart from taking out one mouth noise just by cutting it. Thanks for any feedback, I hope you are having a good day

Welcome to Librivox, Roz!

Your voice is clear and animated. Just one small fix needed to your test; the bit rate is 103 kbps variable, but it should be 128 constant. Re-export your original file to mp3 in Audacity and select Constant under "Bit Rate Mode" and 128 kbps under "Quality." That should fix everything. Then make sure to use those same settings for all future files.

If you could please make those corrections and re-upload to this thread, I'll come back and check it for you.

Thanks,
Winnifred

Yes, you do. You're ready to start recording!

I suggest heading over to the "Readers Wanted: Short Works (Poetry & Prose)" forum to find your first recording. There are lots of shorter options there in all genres.

If you have questions along the way, the "Need Help? Got Advice? forum is a useful place to get answers.

Happy reading!

Cheers,
Winnifred
