You've got Section 8! Check out the first post in this project for instructions on what to name your file (e.g., use the section number, not the chapter number, in your filename), what to put into the intro/outro, how to upload the file, and more.

Ah, apologies for missing this earlier. The other specs are fine, but your volume is now too low at 74.2 dB. It needs to be between 86 and 92 dB. In Audacity, Effect > Loudness Normalization, set to -19LUFS and "perceived loudness" should bring it up to an acceptable level (though you may also have to apply noise reduction if that increases the background noise).

Hi Winnifred,

Sorry, I will need to request an extension.

I had to move my equipment, pause for a month, then set it back up and ran into a few problems. There is a lot of background noise now and I will need to relocate again. Not sure what changed with my setup. I completed the recording and was editing it and found many parts where there was a lot of background car and plane noise. And also a low hum.

I am uploading the noisy Section 19 that I completed.

Not sure if you want to PL this.

After I can relocate to a quieter spot, I will record section 20 and upload that and go back to section 19.

Hi Wayne,

Absolutely, you can have an extension on Section 20. I'll make a note about that in the Magic Window.

I ran your Section 19 through the Checker and listened to a bit at the start and end, and I don't find that the background noise is all that obtrusive. The Checker says it's at 42.3 dB and anything under 45 dB or so is generally acceptable. If you're concerned, you can always run one round of gentle noise reduction on it. Let me know if you need instructions on how to do that in Audacity.

The only thing I noticed is that you've neglected to leave the required 5 seconds of silence at the end. Don't fix that just yet; our DPL may have other changes for you, and it's best to do them all together.

I'm putting this file into the Magic Window now for PL. Stay tuned for any changes.

Thanks, John. Ready for PL. There's an extra underscore before firstsirpercy in the file name for Section 6, but hold off on correcting that until we see whether Adele has any PL changes for you.
