I'm not certain about the origins of "I Love the Mountains", but I'm about 70% sure it's in the PD (perhaps someone could check it out?), though parody is protected by US copyright law.I Love LibriVox
To the tune of "I Love the Mountains"
I love recording.
I love the microphone.
I love to PL
on my drive back home.
I love the forums
when my evenings slow!
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah,
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah!
I love the dramas.
I like the poety.
I love to stay up late
Till it's ten past three!
I love recording
when the world is slow!
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah,
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah!
I like recruiting.
We're growing like the borg.
I like to show off
on Archive.org!
I love the podcast
when the week is slow!
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah,
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah!
I love the accents!
I love the languages
recording all the books
through the ages.
And twenty-nineteen
when PD will grow!
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah,
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah!
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah,
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah!
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah,
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah!
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah,
Boom dee a dah, Boom dee a dah!
Here is a link to the Discovery Channel's parody of the song to help you get a sense of the tune: Discovery Channel: I Love the World.
Here's what I'm thinking: a different soloist for each of the verses, and then we get as many people as we can to record the "boom dee a dah"s, and mix them together for a virtual choir. Alternately, we could have a different soloist for each line of the verses, like they do in the Discovery Channel commercial.
Thoughts?
I can't sing, but I'd be willing to be a soloist to kick things off.
What we need, though, is some music to sing to. That is something that I can't find in the PD.
PS, feel free to add your own verses to the mix! The more the merrier! 8)
