Laura (lvictoria) has already offered to be the DPL for these stories.

Thanks, Laura.

The stories will be posted relatively slowly, as I'm recording them as relief from another very sober non-fiction project.

I'm just checking in and getting everything bookmarked.

Hi Barry! :) It's been a long while. I'm glad to see you're still roaming the halls here.

I'll be watching for the first story, Peter.

Actually, I have been gone for about 3 1/2 years. Retired and have been traveling the country in an RV full time. More settled down now and asked if I could be of any help and they reluctantly, I mean, graciously let me back in. It's nice to see you here too; I know you were gone for awhile as well. Hope as is well. :)

Welcome back to LV, then!

Laura, I've uploaded chapter one. I was going through my PMs yesterday and found that this collection of Ms Nesbit's stories isn't the probable ghost story collection that I first mentioned to you .. so I'll have to do that one next!

I'm all in for another Edith Nesbit book, especially ghost stories! I really enjoyed the first story in this collection.

One note to mention:
~2:12 'said Edmundson' is missing from, “But I thought,” said Edmundson

Thanks, Laura; I've edited and re-uploaded chapter one.

I'm glad you liked it; it was an interesting turn on the expectation of a ghost story.

Back to London's back streets.

I'll be out of action for the next week, as I have guests staying every day.

Thanks, Laura.

It was interesting having two such different people staying with me in quick succession. The first of the two, Annie, took me to the Harry Potter Experience, which she has been trying to arrange for years; fascinating, and made me realise how much work goes into making these films; then we watched some Brother Cadfael episodes (Derek Jacobi as Cadfael) ... and with my second guest I drank Prosecco and watched a few episodes of Red Dwarf.

I've uploaded chapter two.

It sounds like you had a great time with both guests. I have watched Brother Cadfael but I don't know anything about Red Dwarf.

This chapter of Man and Maid brought to mind a Vincent Price horror movie that I watched years ago about a wax museum. Seems like it was called House of Wax.
