Augustus Caesar and the Organisation of the Empire of Rome, by John B. Firth (1868-1943)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/augustus-caesar-and-the-organisation-of-the-empire-of-rome-by-john-benjamin-firth/

(As suggested by LectorRecitator. This is going to be a fun one!)
There is, so far as I have been able to ascertain, no biography of Augustus Caesar - a most curious fact when one considers the extraordinary success of his career and the enormous importance of the work which he accomplished. Perhaps the reason of this apparent neglect may be found in the circumstance that his character is one of the most puzzling of antiquity. In this volume I have attempted to give a clear account of what Augustus achieved in the establishment of the Roman Empire, and at the same time to reveal the man, in so far as he reveals himself by his actions. (Summary by Adapted from the Preface)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://books.google.gr/books?id=gHppoEPVEZIC&printsec=frontcover&hl=el#v=onepage&q&f=false

Target completion date:

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

A DPL is most welcome! I have put a second link for a text source just in case the Greek Google Books is a problem for anyone.
