Hi Val,
PL Okay for Act 3; in Act 2 at 1:05 there is a line that I believe needs to be removed since it belongs to Lady P. "I dare say...awake."

Thanks,
Lora

I did! The Lady was a lot of fun, ktaylor, and a bit of a mystery. Not sure about this “happy" ending!

Despite the play's comic tone, it really gives a rather bleak portrayal of women's options during this era, doesn't it? I've been doing a lot of reading about this play and its author recently. There's several interesting essays online about it. I thought this writer made some good points: https://womensplayhouse.com/2019/02/01/marriage-she-wrote-elizabeth-inchbalds-wives-as-they-were-and-maids-as-they-are/

Amazing! Thank you, I appreciate you sharing this link! Yes, few options for women indeed—but the ladies played their rolls, kept smiling and submitted begrudgingly to “authority” in the end. Speaking of essays, the opening remarks (pg A2) are pretty funny. The critic gets right to it when he says, “This is an incongruous drama. Truth, probability and decorum and violated in every scene…” Then he gets preachy... It’s hilarious actually and worth a read!

Have a lovely day!
