Alright making history accessible is important, I have finally convinced myself to do it, may I please read
11 Fanny Smith Hodges
24 Mollie Williams (look at that picture, what a beautiful lady)
when it says don't read footnotes does that mean all of these things? or only specifically footnotes?
[TR: ***] = Transcriber Note
[HW: ***] = Handwritten Note
[FN: ***] = Footnote
Thank you!
I've put you in for these.
Start reading 11 with
[FANNY SMITH HODGES
Berglundtown, Mississippi]
Start reading 24 with
MOLLIE WILLIAMS
Terry, Mississippi]
This is a challenging section.
Ignore the [FN] embedded in the text.
For the songs, superstition, you don't need to say Hand Written, but do say "song" etc.
I didn't see any TR notes, but ignore them unless you think it adds something significant for clarity.
Oh, and just read the songs, not singing them
Just do your best with this. I know the language is difficult, but one of the reasons these interviews were done and transcribed was to get authentic, first-hand accounts. So, we record them as faithfully as we can.
Let me know if you have furth questions or suggestions.
