Hello There!

Got my one minute test ready! I used:
Studio One Recording Software with a Nectar Pro filter
Mac Software
Shure Analog Mic

https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_amberkay2332.mp3

My biggest concern are my breaths, but the wiki said to upload unedited (at least that was how I interpreted it) so those are still in! Normally I would edit those out, of course.

Greetings Amber

I reviewed your test sample, and while it sounds good there are some technical changes needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate MP3, 44.1kHz sample rate, mono, and between 86db and 92db, preferably 89-90. Your test audio is 64kbps, stereo, and volume too low at 84.6db.

Set your recording level so your raw recording wave forms look more like this:

The peaks should be around -3db. The final volume should be about -21db RMS in Studio One.

You can pre-check your audio yourself by downloading the free Checker app: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/
Passed with Warnings is a fail with regard to volume.

Don't worry about breath sounds. There are only two breaths at all audible in your test. Honestly, breaths in audiobooks are OK as long as they aren't obnoxious.

I have and use iZotope RX10, but have never tried Nectar. In fact, looking at the description on the site I'm still not clear what it does. What are you using it for?

Please make a new test recording and post it in a reply to this message. I will come back and review it for you.
