Residents as rugged as the terrain! Allow me to continue on with section 5, Moonshine Land, please, I think we need a drink after that bear hunt!

Thank you,

If you have any specific words or groups that are particularly off, fire away! Quality is job one with me, and the satisfaction comes from thinking that somebody (even fluent Francophones) will enjoy listening and not be the least irritated by my delivery. The next chapter is more in my wheelhouse, language-wise, I think. Thanks.
Hi - sorry I have not responded to this. Somehow missed that you'd posted it. :( I think that what we've got will do fine. If I get time, I'll make you a sample, but really, it's not necessary now! - Betsy

Hi Brize,
Section 5 is yours. Thank you for Section 4.
A virtual clink of glasses of moonshine.
Cheers!

Hi Meredith - in a previous project I PLed, the description had a warning that the text contained some potentially offensive words. Since this book uses the "n" word quite freely, perhaps some caution should be included in the description? Just a thought - not my decision by any means. - Betsy

Yes, very interesting stories and information. Plus i think I do 'highlander' much better than I do French. (Lot's of 'em cross the Ohio looking for work and settle up here....far fewer Quebecois do so). Sign me up for section six, Ways That Are Dark, please.

Thank you,

This is a fine reading, Brize. I do have one pronunciation note - only one! :)
at 6:00
Mispronounce the 2nd half of “contretemps”
Here's a YouTube example:

But the rest is really fine!

Well, there I go again messing up a French sound - I keep this up and they'll be sharpening up that guillotine (GEE yoh TEEN) for me!. That was actually a new word for me, so at least now if I'm able to work it into a conversation I'll say it right!

I had always thought that lyric from "Black Mountain Blues" - "...babies cry for liquor" was an exaggeration. "Tain't so", per the author! I love reading history, so please allow me to go on to 7 - 'A Leaf from the Past"

Hi Brize,
It is really cool to read this memoirs. I read one that was someone visiting the Amazon and they mentioned that parrots taste good!
Thank you for Section 6. I signed you up for Section 7.
Thanks!
