Thanks, M! I've readjusted the volumes on the two files:

I had a missing word in section 29, so I went along with what struck me as logical here.

I read:

- Another slave, George McVodie, belonging to the Poage family, of Boyd Co., escaped and went to Canada, no [TR: missing word?] as to whether he ever came back later.

as

-Another slave, George McVodie, belonging to the Poage family, of Boyd Co., escaped and went to Canada, no records as to whether he ever came back later.

Please let me know if you think I should do any way better.

Cheers,
LadyBirdD
Excellent reading of both sections.

The volume needs to be increased for both sections. It needs to be between 86 and 92 dB.

Section 18
please amplify by about 4 dB which will put it close to the ideal of 89 dB

Section 19
please amplify by about 5 dB which will put it close to the ideal of 89 dB

Quite interesting about Boyd County.

Thanks,

M

Hadn't realized you were recording it until I started listening and said I recognize that voice...
Haven't come across many former field slaves that were still alive. They were the poor souls that were the most abused.

This is PL OK.

Well, a claim for this section just came in a little ahead of yours, so it has been assigned.
Would you care to make another selection? Mention the Section number to make it a bit easier for me to find, if you would.

Would love to have you as part of this project. :)

Humbliest apologies Larry but I decided after I got into the book that I do not want to ready Annie B Boyd after all.
I didn't realize how hard it would be. Lesson Learned for me, I will read intensely before committing to anything.

Please take me off for Annie Boyd.

Will look around for more that I like.

Sorry again.

Hmm. I must have missed this, but Section 11 has been recorded.
Would you like to consider another one?

And, there will be another volume in this series coming up soon - Mississippi.
