This is not a librivox thing, but has anyone else noticed that IA is not letting you preview longer texts in their viewer any more?

It won't let me preview this one for example, only download.

We've noticed a few weird things happening with the preview of files on archive.org. At the minute we think they are working on something at archive.org until it stabilises.
What browser are you using, in case it makes a difference in troubleshooting

That would be good news if it were only temporary...

I have it happen in Chrome and Edge.

The message says:

Code: Select all

The file you have selected is large (22MB).
Do you wish to download and view it?

They're definitely messing with the viewer. (For example, our audio projects that have cover art are showing the PDF of the artwork rather than the MP3 player.) Hopefully they'll iron out all these wrinkles soon!

Yup, that clinches it: temporary issue, and we're back to seeing the previews now.

It's not back for me. I was going to mention this myself. I get the cover art where the audio previews/players used to be.

Ubuntu Studio Linux OS 22.04.
Browser: Firefox 117.0.1
Brave search engine if that matters.

Yes, the previews are back for texts/books, but our audios are still messed up. We emailed them about it yesterday.
