Hey, Kassandra!
Sorry for taking a while to PL. I was moving between two houses and did not have the time to PL like I normally do.
Your reading of this section is flawless. Yay!
However, you have some technical problems with this section.
1) Your audio file has a
variable bit rate averaging around 102kbps. LibriVox requires all its audio files to have a
constant bit rate of 126kbps.
Thankfully, this is pretty simple to fix. You
need to reexport your audio from Audacity. This can be done either from your original Audacity project file in which you recorded your audio if you still have it or by opening your section's mp3 file in Audacity. Then, click Export as MP3 in Audacity. Next, a window will open. At the bottom of the window, beneath where you can type in the file name, there is a section called Format Options.
Within the
Format Options section, next to
Bit Rate Mode, you need to select
Constant. Then, next to
Quality, choose
126 kbps from the drop down box. Then, hit save and your audio will be the correct bit rate.
If you want to look at the LibriVox Wiki page on technical specifications, you can read it here:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Tech_Specs
2) LibriVox needs there to be a silence of .5-1 second at the beginning of the audio file. Currently, you have 3 seconds at the beginning. Could you delete 2 seconds of that?
3) OPTIONAL: You have some persistent white noise in the background of your recording. It is not super loud and does not distract from your reading so this is purely optional. However, if you want to get rid of the white noise, you can do so in Audacity using the Noise Cleaning option. You can read more about this here:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Noise_Cleaning
In the future, if you want to double check your audio files' tech specs yourself, you can use the Checker program found here:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker
So to reiterate - you need to fix issues 1 and 2 and reupload. Issue 3 is purely optional and only a suggestion.
