Dear Stacey,

This was a perfect reading. A perfect one shot.  I marked it PL OK.

Cruel to hear that even more than 90 years ago, people worried about the fish population in the rivers. Quite an actual theme, don't you think.

Thank you for your contribution and hope to hear from you soon.

Regards.

Minor snafu here. Section _27_ is ready for PL. I haven't recorded section _29_ yet. 29 is what got marked in the MW as ready for PL.

Yep, just toggled the wrong section, but it's where it is where it belongs.
Thanks for catching this.

Hi Ted,

That was a very nice story about trout and salmon and the way you should fish. Not my passion anyway. I'd rather eat them instead of fishing them.

A part from a very very very minor "and" that's missing at 1:28, the story is well read and has a real nice pace. :D Not an issue that needs to be corrected and I'll mark it PL OK.

Thank you so much for your contribution to Librivox and hope to hear from you soon.

Regards.

:) I've not fished since I was young.

I appreciate your attention to detail with the PL. I have added the missing "and" and reuploaded here:

I have recorded section 29 as well and am now editing it.

Sending Chapter 25

https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/lostleaders_25_lang_128kb.mp3
Thank you!
I thought I'd do a quick check of the technical specifications before sending this to our proof listeners.

There are several major problems that I assumed you had worked out with your test recording. Did you have any issues with it?

First, the bit rate is incorrect. All LV recordings must be 128kbs constant, and your file is 59 kbps variable.
Second, the volume is so low that it is barely audible at only 72.3 decibels. Our target is 89 dbs with an acceptable range of 86-92 dbs.

Third, of less importance but still needing adjustment, we need close to 5 seconds of silence at the end, and there are only a little more than two seconds.

When you post a corrected file, (with the same file name) please remember to give the file length mm:ss

If you need help with any of this, please let me know.
We're here to help.

You're almost there!
The volume still is below our lower limit, and now you have close to six seconds of silence at the end.

I could easily make these adjustments, but I want this to be a learning point for you

Here is a little program called Checker https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker, written specifically for LibriVox, that will check the volume. Just drag a file into the Checker window to check validation on all LV specs, including a readout of actual volume in decibels. Use the Amplification feature in Audacity to bring the volume closer to the LV target of 89 dB.

This file needs a boost of another 3 dB.

Thanks for working on this!
