Hi!

I have uploaded the cover files for:

Impressions of Ukiyo-ye by Dora Amsden (book: https://librivox.org/impressions-of-ukiyo-ye-by-dora-amsden/)

here:

https://librivox.org/uploads/covers/impressions_ukiyoye_d_amsden_2302.zip

I hope Availle, the book coordinator and, If I am not confused very knowledgeable of Japanese culture, is not too much deceived by the cover.
I read that she could not make this cover and that is why I accepted to make it as a kind of challenge.

As always thanks in advance and in case of any issue please contact me.

Cheers!

Caught ... and linked. Looks fine to me :D . We can only do our best about relevance and when it is an image from the book then it's relevant :D

I don't know who did the cover for Joe Strong, but the CD case isn't filled out properly. No "cover by", no Title/Author on the end caps, etc.
https://ia904706.us.archive.org/0/items/joe_strong_the_boy_wizard_2302_librivox/joe_strong_2302.pdf

Same thing here with Nature Of A Crime
https://ia804706.us.archive.org/19/items/nature_crime_ml_2302_librivox/nature_crime_2302.pdf

And another
https://ia804708.us.archive.org/18/items/commentariesonthelawsofengland4_2302_librivox/Commentaries_Laws_England_4_2302.pdf

I presumed somebody checked these things for accuracy before sending them to IA. Is that not happening?

Preclaim made.
Looking into Michele's .........

We don't insist on what is written on the pdf - everyone uses different templates and some prefer not to be credited for their volunteer work - but it is handy to have as far as record keeping is concerned.

Well, I certainly hope we do not condone publishing unfinished templates: Cover by: (your name), and Title, Author on the endcaps, are not finished. If someone doesn't want to take the trouble to produce actual CD cases from the templates that represent actual Librivox products, properly named, then they shouldn't. If they don't want to put their name on it, no problem, but the least they can do is remove the bold text above.

Your point, Anne, that covermakers don't have to include their name is well taken. My point is that no cover maker should be sending in what look like incomplete templates, and somebody should be checking them before uploading them to IA, and whoever made these 3 covers should be asked to fix them. I feel sure you agree with that and can figure out who did them. I suppose I could go in and try to repair them as I would a jpg photo, but that would be harder than working with the original.

I upload all the files from my computer - I download people's zip files , extract them and add them - I had some Microsoft problems and the uploading had errors - so thanks for pointing it out. they seem to be fixed now. Hasn't happened before and hopefully won't again.

I generally look at covers as they come into my RSS feed, just because I love seeing who makes what, learning new techniques, and admiring the work we do. It's true, errors don't usually happen, so thanks for fixing those 3. In the past, you may remember, if an error on an old cover has been reported here and the covermaker is no longer with us, I've volunteered to fix them, which got me to checking new ones for accuracy too.

If you ever need help uploading files, I'd be happy to assist with that too.
