When Woman Proposes, by Anne Warner (1869 - 1913)

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/when-woman-proposes-by-anne-warner/
Does love at first sight exist? The heroine of this story, Natalie, seems to think so and is willing to move heaven and earth in order to marry Captain Mowbray whom she notices at a reception dinner. Thankfully Natalie is rich, brave, and willing to stand up for what she believes in. She will need every ounce of courage and every dollar she has in order to see herself become the bride of her handsome Captain who refuses to ever become a married man. (Summary by Jenn Broda)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi Jenn,

I'd be happy to DPL this for you, if you'd like a DPL... and if I'm not stepping on any toes in offering. If you'd rather I didn't, that's fine by me. :D

Cheers, Therese.

Hi,
I'm just checking in, so that you know I'm still around. I'll try to PL Chapter 2 tomorrow, if I can fit it in. Otherwise, I should be able to get it done by the end of the week.
Cheers, Therese.

Chapter 2 is almost perfect. There's just one main thing to fix.
At 16:00, I hear "Nothing in the world can stand against me", but the text says "Nothing in the whole world can stand against me". I think the "whole" part adds more emphasis to what Nathalie is trying to say. Other than that, it's fine.

Note: There's also a slight change from the text at 10:37 (I hear "his own motorcar", while the text says "his own motor"), but as both the words motor and motorcar can be synonyms, there is no need for you to change it. I just thought I'd bring it up, in case you would like to change it, as you will already be editing. But this one, I leave entirely up to your own preference, though if you decide to change it, please let me know, so that I can spot PL both spots. :D

Thank you, Therese, for your careful PLing!!

I fixed both of your suggestions (10:37 and 16:00) and they are ready for Spot PL :)
