~[MUSIC]J.S. Bach, Volume 2 by A. Schweitzer d1965-mtf
Apologies for my slowness with this - life has been getting in the way big time.

I was very interested to read all the talk about the footnotes a few weeks back since this chapter is enthusiastically footnoted. I will admit I've played a little fast and loose with them so please let me know what works and what doesn't. For the most part, I've kept footnotes that provide additional information and don't mess with the flow of the text too much. However, even some of these footnotes occasionally had page references. If these references were for the current text I didn't read that part since it didn't seem to make much sense for an audio recording. Like I said, let me know.
I also have one more section to read. I am going to try and read it in the allotted time but might not be able to do so. May I have an extension?

Sorry about the delay. I just moved house and had to build another booth.
https://librivox.org/uploads/mightyfelix/jsbach2_09_schweitzer_128kb.mp3
The next bit will be coming soon.
I left five seconds (or so) gaps where the musical examples need to be. That's what the consensus seems to be.

PL note:
Feedback on the 14:54 recording of Section 9:
1 Musicians please comment here for page 64.
14:02 - 14:06 rhythm is performed by clapping of hands
I am Okay with this arrangement if you musicians say yes. I saw in MW there is only one piece of music listed for page 64, does that indicate that it is perfect for the reader to clap out the rhythm?
2 Two spots each need a 5-seconds silence for future inserting of the corresponding music
8:30 and 12:26
All the rest is excellent!
Regards,
Jessie

The best way to perform a rhythm, I feel, is on a percussion instrument, so it seemed logical and easier to clap it.
So, do you want the silence added, or can the person who is going to insert the musical examples find the gap anyway?

Hereith lie the next bit.
To clarify, is there actually any editing I need to do for the previous section, since it is the case that the silences for insertion are not quite right, and the rhythm clapping...well, if you would prefer a different form, the person putting in the rhythms will be playing with the space anyway?

2:06 do you want to insert the title "The Motives of Joy"?
About the rhythm clapping in this section and in Section 9, I agree with you. Officially, though I will wait for Mozart's words on it.
All the rest is perfect!

Jessie

update: Feedback on the 17:55 recording of Section 11
Since I agree with you and Mozart on the clapping of rhythm, I am willing to update Section 11 as PL OK, unless
2:06 if you want to insert the title "The Motives of Joy"
I will further update it if you prefer to make this change.
I will also update Section 9 as PL OK once you please add the two spots of 5-second silence.
Two spots each need a 5-seconds silence for future inserting of the corresponding music, in Section 9
8:30 and 12:26
I apologize for the slow responses.
Best,
Jessie

Finally! I am so, so sorry it took me so long. Section 59 is now ready for inspection.

A couple of housekeeping notes:
- I have once again been a touch free and easy with the footnotes, particularly the one on p.251 where I decided that it was worth keeping the reference to elsewhere in the text but that it made more sense to refer to the chapter than the specific page.
- There is a typo in the last paragraph of p. 250. Instead of "wear (alto) sings the chorale," I have read it as, "Fear (alto) sings the chorale..."

Please let me know if you disagree with those choices (and if I've messed things up elsewhere).
