ToniM wrote: February 20th, 2022, 1:22 pm Sorry. I bugged that up! First time at this so hopefully will get better at. I trimmed the front of the clip and correct the file name.

Section 23 (5:54) https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/thestrangestthingsintheworld_023_henry_128kb.mp3
Section 23 - The Versatile Ant Farmers - is now PL OK.
(So far as I can tell) there was no harm in uploading the section with the wrong name, but with so many files moving around in the LibriVox servers it is so easy for a chapter to get lost if we all aren't careful to follow the naming conventions.

So you know, the volume for your section was right down the middle of the range - only 0.2 dB away from the ideal level.
Yes, I can see how naming correctly is very important. Thank you. 😊

Section 123 - The Lamp That is a Beetle - PL OK.
Section 124 - Rainstorms of Worms - PL OK.
(The quote about on the 25th ult. sent me off searching the World Wide Web for the meaning of ult., which I haven't run across before. I found a genealogy website that explained writers formerly would use:
ult. = the previous month
inst. = this month
Since the newspaper was from August 1872 the rainstorm of worms occurred on July 25th of that year. It's another strange little bit of grammar I've learned while prooflistening LV recordings!)
Section 163 - Prodigious Fertility of Insects - PL OK.

Changing the volume should be useful to someone listening in a noisy environment - say riding a city bus. Otherwise the listener might have to go through the sequence - 'Wait, I missed that." - pull out phone - adjust volume - back up and replay -'Whoa, too loud!" - adjust volume.

Thanks for the fixes.

Mike -
I nearly missed this one in today's shuffle. 63 - The Great Seal Migrations - PL OK.
Note: your volume was near the lower allowable limit - you could bring your next chapter up 2 to 3 dB.

PL OK

But it isn't necessary to say
Section 58 - The Heavy Toll of Bird Migrations
at the end of the introduction. It's enough to just say
The Heavy Toll of Bird Migrations

Welcome! You are assigned that section. Have fun. :D Oh, and how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? It can be your forum name or real name or anything.
