Seems like we're off to the races then.

Why don't I start with chapter 2 and see where it goes from there? Is that alright?

I am a brand new volunteer reader.

Here is my 1 minute test:

I left the sound raw but I can get a -60 noise floor and a pass mark with the checker digitally. I'm very new, but I'm trying to do my homework and I have a bunch of moving blankets on order (1-2 weeks). Hopefully when I hang them up it'll make it easier to capture cleaner sound.

I'd like to do a chapter with you, if that's ok. Maybe more, but small bites for the newbie - wouldn't want to choke on my beginner's enthusiasm.
Thank you for your interest in this project.
I see you've had two good responses to your test recording, so you're good to go here.

You might want to start with a smaller piece, say the weekly poem or I have a new project with short vignettes
Stray Feathers From a Bird Man's Desk viewtopic.php?f=28&t=89263

But I am quite willing to put you in for a chapter in this book if you like.
Just let me know which one you want to do. :)
Also, let me know how you would like to be listed in the LV catalog -- real name, pseudonym or any nickname you wish. This is how you will be credited for all of your LV work.

Good that you're taking the time to learn about recording!
You don't need a lot of blankets, depending on what else is in your space, and having the behind you is more important. I used just a couple of throws hung in back, and it really did help. Nothing elaborate. I also always do noise reductions on my recordings as a matter of routine.

Looking forward to hearing your first recording!

Ah, posted a note there.
I didn't realize you're in Canada, so isn't public domain for you.

I think we crossed our posts above, so I just need to know how you want to be credited in the catalog, and I'll put you in for Section 2.

Sure - lets put me down as me for the books:

Anthony Mallette

I'm actually planning to make a real go of this, so may as well start as me.

Thanks Larry

That is fine!
I've added you and assigned you Chapter 2
Just ask if you need help along the way, or just have a casual question.

You can click on your name in the Magic Window to view your catalog page. This is where you can track all of your LV projects, of which I hope there will be many.

Welcome to LibriVox!

Thank you for your interest in this project.
We do, however, request that our new readers first complete a one-minute test recording to check out all of your technical specifications and any reading issues.

New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!

Among the useful information there you will find instructions for completing your test recording. Once you have the "OK" on that, post again here and you are free to record for this project. Let us know how you would like to be credited in the LibriVox catalog - real name, pseudonym or other nickname.
