I really enjoyed doing it!
Is the turquoise story book going to be recorded next?
I think it's the only one that's missing.
Thank you :)
Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed recording it! :D
Now that you've suggested it, I might just start a group project on it. It sounds super fun! Thanks for the suggestion.

Edit: I started a group project on it. (Don't have an MC as of right now)

Great job with the recording, just one minor detail to make it PL OK~
At 2:29 you say, "and the cheeks and lips," the actual line is, "the cheeks and lips."

*M, I'm just pitching in on these smaller sections to help you out a bit. :D

I enjoyed listening to this section. Your reading was very nice and I liked your little chuckle as the fox was laughing at the poor bear.

PL OK.

The chapter was well read and there are only two, easy to fix issues with the recording.

1. There is a high level of background noise. The file should be run through noise reduction to reduce it. I just did a quick and dirty test with the noise removal in Audacity, set at 8, 6, and 6 and selecting the "silence" between 2.0 and 2.5 seconds; and reduced the noise significantly. If you play around with the settings I am sure you can do a better job than I did. You just don't want the settings to be too high or it does interesting things with your recording.
2. The silence is not long enough at the end. Please add about 1 more second to the end of the recording to make it around 5 seconds.

Thank you from one librarian to another, :)

https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/pearlstorybook_13_skinner_128kb.mp3
1 minute and 14 seconds

https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/pearlstorybook_14_skinner_128kb.mp3
26 minutes and 16 seconds
Sorry to take so long redoing 14, but I figured I would appreciate listening to the whole thing again more than if I listened right away.

Anyway, you did a great job with section 14 and I loved your kids voices.

A big thumbs up for this one. PL OK.

Thanks,

The only background noise I heard was a hum if I turned the volume way up, but I ran it through Noise Reduction and we'll see if it solves the problem. New file is here:

The length is now 12:31

You're welcome. It never hurts to practice more reading. :D

I listened to it on two different output devices just now. One had the hum and the other didn't. I also ran it through Checker which showed that the background noise dropped from over 53 dB to the "standard" 24.2 dB. So you are PL OK now.

Thanks,

Thank you! I'm not sure that mistake changed the meaning of the text but I went ahead and fixed it :)

Thank you for letting me know about the background noise. I have another headset I can use to record, and I'll try that on the next story I do, as well as run a noise reduction on all my recordings from now on.
