How would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? It can be your real name or any thing you choose.

Hope this is ok. Please let me know if there are any problems as these are my first recordings.
Welcome to LibriVox, kromaine. I must warn you that LibriVox has a habit of being so enjoyable that it quickly becomes addictive. And, I must say, a right nice group of people to work with.
First of all, your reading style and voice are just fine the way they are. You do not have to make any changes there.
I did notice some echoey, hollow sound, especially at the beginning of the first recording. It was still there on the second recording but not nearly as noticeable. Here are a couple of websites that might be of help with this:
https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@rosatravels/tutorial-take-out-the-hollow-echoey-sounds-with-audacity
https://www.alphr.com/remove-echo-audacity/
Other recording software programs have similar approaches.
The only correction that you need to make to your two recordings is to edit out all but about 1/2 second of silence at the beginning of the recordings. Once you do that, they will be listed as PL OK.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Good to hear your voice again, Greg.
As usual, all three chapters were read well with absolutely no concerns. Definitely PL OK.

Chapter 21 has passed muster and is now listed as PL OK.
If I could make one suggestion, it would be for you to read just a tad slower. It would make the recording easier to listen to. Nothing major, just a personal preference, I suppose.

Firstly many thanks for the welcome to the Librivox community and for the recording tips. Here are the corrected files for your approval.

Yes, I think the echo is being caused by the room I am recording in as it doesn't have much by way of soft furnishings to soak it up. I'll drape a blanket round next time, that should work . Quick question. How much post-recording processing is done? I only ask as I do have ways of enhancing my recordings before I post them (EQ, compression, signal levelling etc). I deliberately left it "dry" this time as I wasn't sure. Hope you can advise me on that. Plus, you are right, this could become addictive! Thanks, Kevin.

I will let philchenevert answer questions about post-recording processing as that is something I haven't gotten into yet.

Kevin asked
The simple answer is none; no EQ, no levelling, etc. We expect a finished track to be uploaded. The prooflistener only checks for repeats, bobbles and some technical specs which is the responsibility of the reader to correct and then upload again. If there are none, then the track you upload is considered ready to put into our catalog. It would be nice to have an audio engineer doing post processing but we don't have anything like that. Keep asking if anything is unclear.Quick question. How much post-recording processing is done?
