Pretty soon. I already started in on it and am doing it in sessions. It should be coming in the near future.

Actually, I may need to orphan it. It's just SO LONG...

Ok. It's your call. You did have another reader volunteer for it if needed, a few posts up. She may still be willing.Bookworm360 wrote: ↑April 4th, 2021, 1:07 pm Actually, I may need to orphan it. It's just SO LONG...

Hi! I'd be happy to "adopt" your chapters for More Celtic Fairy Tales. I am a novice recorder, but I really want to volunteer more here, especially since I'm very passionate about starting to record the audio stories and Celtic myths! Thanks, let me know if I'm needed!

Sure, I'd be glad to have you! Just two things:
1: could you submit a 1-minute test just so we know your audio is good? There are instructions in the LibriVox wiki.
2: How would you like your name to appear in the LibriVox catalogue? It can be your real name, your forum name, or just something you make up.
Thank you and welcome! Hope to see your recordings soon!

Hi!
I previously indicated that I might help with the Notes & References section.
However, I've had a look at it and there are many, many abbreviations with which I am unfamiliar.
If there was a dictionary of abbreviations that I could access, I would be glad to help out with it.
Is there such a thing?
Noel.

I don’t know. That’s kind of why I orphaned it . But I’m sure you can find one somewhere.

Can you give an example of some of the abbreviations you'd need help with? I'm not sure how many of them are standardized. And some of them could probably be omitted. I see that "MS" shows up several times. This is "manuscript." By the same token, "MSS" stands for "manuscripts." But I see several that look to be part of a reference, such as this, on page 223:
It is up to the discretion of the BC (Bookworm, in this case), but these references can be and often are omitted, as they are not really part of the text proper, and don't typically transfer well to an audio format. If it were up to me, I would skip the reference (underlined above) and read it as:The story, printed and translated by Dr. E. Muller, Rev. Celt. iv. 342, &c, is as follows...

Don’t worry, the abbreviations are optional, I don’t mind.

I'll take the orphaned section. It looks painful, but since you want it in the project, someone has to do it.

I retract my claim. I started to record it, but I can't handle the place and people names. Sorry!
