Hi everybody,
I know it's still 5 days till Christmas but since I (in all likelihood) will not be online for the 24th or 25th (OK, maybe later on Christmas Day, but I'm not entirely sure of that) I decided to start a thread here.
Just for fun, what are all your favorite Christmas songs? My top three this year (nonreligious) are probably (1) Baby, It's Cold Outside, (2) I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, and (3) Porky Pig's version of Blue Christmas. I know the last two are very odd but they're fun songs. I also like Silent Night.
Merry Christmas everybody!!

God Bless,
Rachel

I don't know if it's my favorite, but I am partial to "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day."

And here's a good write-up of its story: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justin-taylor/the-story-of-pain-and-hope-behind-i-heard-the-bells-on-christmas-day/

(Continued)

5) I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (Jackson 5)

6) チキンラむス (Chikenrice), J-pop, [ζ΅œη”° ι›…εŠŸ (Masatoshi Hamada) and
ζ§‡εŽŸ 敬之 (Noriyuki Makihara)]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQuou6pV0hE
Hamada is a Japanese comedian; the teeth man in the video. Makihara is a Japanese singer song writer, a Billy Joel in Japan, in purple on cap in the video. He is the composer. Another man is Matsumoto, Hamada's sidekick. Matsumoto wrote the lyrics. It's technically poor, but very heartful.

Funny thing, a lot of these are unconventional songs... that's really interesting, actually! It's probably at least partly because two of my favorite songs are pretty unconventional as well.
I also do like Carol of the Bells (without lyrics though). Also (since, for some weird reason my Alexa is playing new pop carols today) I'm liking "Like It's Christmas" by the Jonas brothers... (I don't know why, I really like pop music and this is a fun one!) https://youtu.be/VXxyVYA1Iko
I like some of the Jackson 5 Christmas covers as well. And (this is a new one on my radio station) I like "Mamacita, Donde Esta Santa Claus?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2OwSqbSnP4 (I think that's the right link.)

I tried Like It's Christmas. It's cool and urbane.
But my PC can't communicate well with YouTube so that
I can't feel the tune. The voice quality is worth than toad's.

My all time favorite Christmas Album, played every year since it came out when my son was small (he played it last night at our party), is John Denver and the Muppets Christmas Album, and my favorite song is . . . . I can't decide. Some make me laugh. Others make me cry, or tap my feet. The all put me "in the holiday mood".

My absolute favorite Christmas movie is A Muppet Christmas Carol. For a bunch of puppets, they really know how to do it right, don't they? :D
