Miss Julia

Chapter 4 PL notes:

@0:31 there is only a second or two of silence between your lines and the narrator's. Can you please add some more silence?

Also, shouldn't the file name contain 128kbps in it? If so, then all 3 of your chapters would need it added.

Chapter 8 PL notes:

@0:45 there is only a second or two silence between your lines and the narrator's. Can you please add some more silence?

Other than that, everything else is perfect! Wow though, your voice is so smooth and delicate, I could listen for hours! :D <smile> And I'm not just saying that either, it's very good!

Chapter 1 is PL OK!

Chapter 5 PL Notes

Needs about +3.0 amplifying. It's at 84.0 db, needs to be at least 86.0 db

@0:03 Text says "How do you do?" I heard "Howdy do?". Also, can you add another two seconds of silence before the line starts? That would be awesome, thank you so much! Good reading as well, I like the accent  <thumbsup>
Hi,
I'm a bit confused as I am definitely saying "How do you do" (as in, I hear 4 syllables). I guess it's not that strange that you heard "howdy", since that actually is a contraction of "how do you [do]". :P This is how I would say it, so I'm not sure what you want me to change there...

I turned 2 seconds into 4 seconds of silence, and amplified (although I assume that the editor is going to fiddle around with volumes anyways).

Usually for a role in a DR the filename doesn’t matter as the individual files will need to be edited into the main file anyway. I won’t change this unless the BC specifically requires it, as I don’t think it matters. Similarly my silences should be long enough for easy editing, even though they may not be as long as others.

Thanks Foon!
And as Beth said, the file names of each individual recording do not really matter as long as they indicate clearly the role and the chapter :D

Have you found a narrator for this yet? I kinda think I'd like to try my hand at it.

No, the narrator role is open. Would you like me to assign it to you? :D

Hello - It's my last day that my kids are in school - and during my youngest's nap, I was able to finish off reading these chapters. Here they are! There are a number of points where the script is colored where it shouldn't be - but I was able to just read that. One point in particular that I wanted to mention I've listed below.

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/courage_narrator_1_128kb.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/courage_narrator_2_128kb.mp3

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/courage_narrator_6_128kb.mp3

at about the 12:55ish point in the recording I said that line twice - once as it was in the script - and once with me saying the word in quotation marks that "Boy" is supposed to say - but it doesn't seem as if he would say it, but that it would flow in the sentence. You may use whichever one works best - I know that I had my son, William (who was reading Boy) say that line - so whatever works best!

Thanks for the opportunity - this was definitely a fun little story to read and I can't wait to hear it all together with the voices.
