Hi Gerwin, Thank you for your new contributions to the 59th volume of the nonfiction collection. I am in the process of checking your sources, and at this point I am giving the ok for Craig to PL your selection from Francis Bacon. Although at the nonfiction collection we adhere to "standard proof listening," I think that with classic authors like Bacon we should try to adhere as closely to the text as possible. In this context, I note that the title of Bacon's essay, as shown in the Gutenberg text you site, is "Of Truth," (not "On Truth"). You do say "Of Truth" correctly in your recording, so it is just your file name which I would ask you please to correct.

As to Blake, I am not so sure. You state the title of your recording as "All Religions are One." The textual source you site does, indeed, contain this text. Generally speaking, we prefer more "standard sources" such as Gutenberg.org or archive.org, but there is a wiki source which has this same text ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Religions_are_One) so we seem to be on solid ground for proof listening.

However, in your recording, you then continue on from the text for "All Religions Are One" to "There is No Natural Religion." I don't see what source you are using for this part of your recording. From my brief dive into Blake scholarship via Wikipedia, there seems to be considerable debate surrounding the illuminated manuscript containing "There is No Natural Religion,": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There_is_No_Natural_Religion.

If you can illuminate me further as to the sources you are using, I would be grateful.

At this time, I would prefer that you submit "All Religions are One" as a stand-alone reading. If you want to read further selections from Blake, I would ask that you please read from a work that is clearly in the public domain. Among the scholarly sources that I am seeing cited repeatedly is John Sampson's The Poetical Works of William Blake by John Sampson, Oxford University Press, 1905.

Thanks for Of Truth Kerwin.

I found the volume low at 85.3 we like to keep it at 89.

also at 2:04 you read false valitations for false valuations

My apologies, I read the text from a physical copy of a Norton Anthology. I've cut it down to a stand-alone reading concistent with the text on the website:

Thanks for the reading from Blake Kerwin. I did a little research and found the poem in The Works of William Blake
https://archive.org/stream/worksofwilliambl03blakrich#page/n118/mode/1up

Blake titled the poem The Is No Natural Religion

The reading you made is PLOK except for the title which should be changed in the beginning and end.

Craig and Gerwin, Let's please leave the title "All Religions Are One," as Gerwin has it now. [My decision as Book Coordinator.] I spent a lot of time yesterday wading through Blake scholarship debates trying to sort this out. These aphorisms come from illuminated manuscripts, one of which was sold in separate un-numbered sheets at an auction house in the 1800's, etc. etc. There are endless debates about Blake, which are beyond the scope of LibriVox!

I continue to hope for some clarification of why exactly soupy insists on calling me 'Kerwin'.

I figured as much. Haha, it's alright. Just making sure it wasn't some kind of nickname you decided on.

Rest assured, Gerwin, we do not resort to satirizing individuals at LibriVox.

That turned out more difficult than the beginning suggested...

Hi Availle, Thanks for this contribution to vol. 059. :) I've just briefly eye'd the text, and indeed, it looks like a difficult read. It's a good thing the nonfiction collection has a seasoned DPL who is up to the challenge!
