Re: [SOLO] Man and Maid - Edith Nesbit - kd

Thanks, Laura. It was interesting having two such different people staying with me in quick succession. The first of the two, Annie, took me to the Harry Potter Experience, which she has been trying to arrange for years; fascinating, and made me realise how much work goes into making these films; th...

Re: How Many Projects Have You BC'd?

Yes, and a rather clumsy business it was, too, with the Back command not working properly. For example: my main page shows all my projects; choose solos; open a solo to check its length; go back ... and I'm back to the main page, rather than to the filtered Solo projects. ... and then to add up all ...

Re: How Many Projects Have You BC'd?

Well, I'm only an occasional BC, with 66 to my name. But I'd never thought of how long I'd spent on solos, and did some counting: barring arithmetical errors, I've recorded 35 solos, with a total of just over 258 hours of completed ones, with two more unfinished.

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

I'd also suggest that, once you have a set-up that you like, you make a note of all your current preferences (which toolbars are open, which effects you use, and so on). Because, when Audacity updates, it doesn't carry many of these over into the new version, so you have to reset them. For example, ...

Re: [SOLO] Pauper, thief, and convict - Archer - ans

Thanks for catching them, Laura; I've re-uploaded Section 6. Treasure Trails are produced by a little company. They sell little booklets of clues to solve, following a fictional plot (finding hidden treasure, discovering a spy's name, finding out an assassin's name and weapons ...). The clues are so...

Re: [SOLO] Pauper, thief, and convict - Archer - ans

Well, that's almost all my socialising for this year done in just one week! I'm probably going to get into The Cheese again in the middle of June, when I'm on a "treasure trail" in the area with another friend.

I've uploaded section six. Now for another Nesbit story.

Re: [SOLO] Pauper, thief, and convict - Archer - ans

Thanks, Laura, section five edited and re-uploaded. .... and when he came into a little ward "carelessly", and found a dead child! It's interesting how immediate and real his descriptions are ... and all these human souls are dust now. ... and we did get into the Cheshire Cheese! Luckily i...

Re: [SOLO] Pauper, thief, and convict - Archer - ans

Thanks, Laura, I had a few hours between tidying the flat and my friend arriving, so worked on finishing chapter five. I was interrupted before I could upload it yesterday, but I've done it this morning. If there are more than a couple of errors, give up on PLing, and I'll go through the chapter aga...

Re: [SOLO] Man and Maid - Edith Nesbit - kd

Thanks, Laura; I've edited and re-uploaded chapter one.

I'm glad you liked it; it was an interesting turn on the expectation of a ghost story.

Back to London's back streets.

I'll be out of action for the next week, as I have guests staying every day.

Re: [SOLO] Man and Maid - Edith Nesbit - kd

Welcome back to LV, then!

Laura, I've uploaded chapter one. I was going through my PMs yesterday and found that this collection of Ms Nesbit's stories isn't the probable ghost story collection that I first mentioned to you .. so I'll have to do that one next!

Re: [SOLO] Man and Maid - Edith Nesbit

Laura (lvictoria) has already offered to be the DPL for these stories.

Thanks, Laura.

The stories will be posted relatively slowly, as I'm recording them as relief from another very sober non-fiction project.

Thanks for catching that, Rapunzelina; I've edited and re-uploaded https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/fcc012_icknieldway_thomas_py_128kb.mp3 (51.32) I felt his comment "out of the reach of letters" the same way. I have a book of haiku by the zen monk Santoka Taneda (dead for some yea...
