[Maori] The Holy Bible

Most of the Bible versions we have are done book by book which is not so big. Trouble would be to find Maori speakers and a version of the Bible which would be PD - which means translated before 1923 for us to use it on our US based servers and , if the reader/s are living in NZ , that it is PD for them too

A google search for Maori Bible etext is a good way to start - first one that comes up http://www.biblegateway.com/versions/index.php?action=getVersionInfo&vid=24#copy does say ir is PD but you would need to have a good look round and see what is available - some sites are not very reliable.

I found an article (see http://anglicanhistory.org/nz/maunsell_translation1858.html) that claims the translation happened before 1858. I suppose I might have to get a hard copy in my hands to be absolutely sure.
This book, available on Google Books, appears to be a Maori New Testament published in 1903.
