The Cuchullin saga in Irish literature by Eleanor Hull

I have a love for Irish myths, and in particular some of the characters in this volume (Cuchullain, and Medb), and it appears, based on some quick searches of the LibriVox catalog, that no reading of the Cattle Raid of Cooley (Tain Bo Cuailnge) has yet been completed.

I've not been a BC before, but I would be happy to serve as co-BC, apprenticing and learning the craft under an experienced BC, as well as helping out with the recording.

Final point: I do not speak Gaelic, and so if anyone here has experience with the Gaelic language and would like to be part of the project, that would be a great help to ensure authenticity of pronunciation.

This looks very interesting, but quite a difficult read! (Especially the introduction). I find Irish (Gaelic) most intriguing, but as an English-speaker I find it visually difficult to accustom myself to. It would be great to get a Irish/Gaelic-speaker involved for all the names! The only thing on Librivox that I could find in Irish is 'Amhran an Tae' in the Multi-lingual Short Works Collection 031: https://librivox.org/multilingual-short-works-collection-031-poetry-prose-by-various/ Although some people are working on an Irish project here: viewtopic.php?t=90457&start=15 You could try contacting the reader for assistance.

That's really cool! Are you learning it just for fun? (Maybe someday, I tell myself...) I do better with Irish/Gaelic songs, but have a hard time when different versions have differing accents/pronunciation

It is just for fun, and same for me . The songs are great indeed, and the different accents will probably not be a problem as long as it is sufficiently Irish(they have a lot of regional variants anyway ).
