Help with French, please--The French pronunciation thread

Thanks again, Isad, and for picking up those words I didn't list. I actually had tried 'winging it' in one of the short ones, but it bore so little resemblance to you beautiful recitation of it that I thought better of it and pasted in yours.

I think it's 'c'est impossible' that our 'hearers' (as the author calls them), won't enjoy this production, and I can almost hear the cheers from Quebec, where they particularly dislike the intrusion of 'Anglais' on their culture.

I need help with the french bit, though its only a few lines, but I am unable to do it. These are the lines -

I saw from an article that appeared in the Courrier de 1' Europe, that reading in France is generally bad too. This is what was said : — “ En France elle [reading] n’a pas meme la valeur d’un art d’agrement ; on la regarde comme une curiosite comme un luxe, parfois meme comme une pre-tention.”

This is on Page 23 of the book.
If someone else can record this, i can punch in the recording within my project, if that works.

Would anyone be able to help out (the blue sentence including the English)?

maybe it's a typo and they mean Rilly-la-Montagne ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rilly-la-Montagne
didn't find any geological sites about it though.
If it's the one you need, I can record it this afternoon, if nobody else gets to it before me.

Yes, please, Sonia; that would be perfect.

According to wikipedia, freshwater limestones are found in the north of France, so it does look as if the author meant Rilly de Montagne.
