Guide for Catholic Young Women: Especially For Those Who Earn Their Own Living, by Rev. George Deshon (1823 - 1903)
First published in 1868, this book contains 83 chapters that would seem to deal with every important subject for the young lady. There are the usual chapters one would expect on Prayer but some unusual chapters like, "How to Behave in Sickness", "The Devil’s Pretexts for Lying" and others. Often a particular virtue is covered on one chapter and then the advantages of that same virtue are shown in the following chapter. The author brings in examples of saints to show how they would deal with spiritual problems. (Summary by https://www.traditionalcatholicpublishing.com/)

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hello Mel!

I'll be glad to join as your MC. As a solo reader, you will be the Book Coordinator for this project, so you'll be in charge of entering things into the Magic Window. I'll get it set up for you, then I'll be back with instructions.

I've set up the Magic Window for you. You can pick how many chapters you want in each section, and you can add more if you find you need more.

I've left the summary in place for now, but since it's not Public Domain, we won't be able to use it when we go to catalog. We'll need a new summary from you by then, but you've got plenty of time to come up with one.

One question, before the instructions: do you have someone in mind for a proof-listener? If not, we'll see if we can find one.

Okay, here's where we get you signed in so that you can update the Magic Window for yourself!
The instructions here will walk you through setting up a password for the back-end system:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Soloists:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window#Accessing_the_System_%E2%80%93_First_Time_Login

After that, you'll be able to click the 'BC Admin' link below the Magic Window to sign in and start filling in the chapters. There are detailed instructions for that lower down the page I linked, but you're also welcome to ask, if you have questions.

Ah, I think I know what's going on there.
Choose the logout button, and it will take you to the sign-in page. You'll then have the "Forgot password" option mentioned in the instructions. :D

And about the PL: I'll add a tilde (~) to the title, so folks know we're looking. If we get too far without one, I'll also advertise in Listeners Wanted for you.

Off to a good start!
For this time, I've added that information to the Magic Window for you, and set the 'Status' to 'Ready for PL'.
For next time, you can do the same thing, again from that 'BC Admin' link. A little different than submissions on a group project, but you'll soon be used to it. :)

Instead of posting to the forum do I just update the window for each finished recording?

Best would be both - you'd update the Magic Window with each recording, and then post in the forum to let Bookworm360 know that you have done so. You won't need to put the link or the duration in the forum, just post to say that it's up.

Section 1 was beautifully read, but the volume of the recording falls outside of the target range (86-92 dB) Would you like to adjust it yourself or would you prefer assistance for this one?
