I can't find this text on IA or gutenberg, or the Library of Congress, so I wonder if this can be used as a text source:

No, since it doesn't have the text scan.

This can be used, though (starting at page 174-239): https://archive.org/details/autographsforfr00socigoog/page/n190/mode/2up
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart

I have Autographs for Freedom on my list of group projects to put together one of these days. But how did you know The Heroic Slave was in there?

And what is "the text scan". IA scans in books, but Gutenberg posts OCR's of those scans. How does Wikipedia get its text but via scan?

Sources that share transcribed works (e.g. works rendered into html or a cleaned up PDF) without a clear statement of what edition they came from aren't allowed, just like they're not allowed for >95-year-old works. Wikisource is not acceptable unless it has a scan that clearly shows a publication date of 96 years or more, because they restrict use of the texts with a CC license.

Usually the scan is shown in the "Discussion" tab on Wikisource.
