The 116th Battalion in France, by E. P. S. Allen
With the assistance of the official “War Diary” and the proud memory of two years’ service with the 116th Battalion C.E.F. in France, the writer has compiled this small book for all ex-members of the Battalion, with the hope that they may find somewhere within its pages the reminiscence of days spent together, battles fought, and friendships made; and for the parents, relatives, and friends whose loved ones fell whilst fighting in the ranks of the Battalion, as a token of remembrance and sympathy. (Summary by The Adjutant)

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I'll be glad to MC this for you! Back in a bit with your Magic Window. :D

Update:
Your Magic Window is ready! I see that you've been DPL for a project before, but here's a refresher on working with the MW as a soloist:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Soloists:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window

Also, if you don't already have a DPL lined up, just let me know. We'll add a '~' to the thread title, so folks know they can offer to join in that capacity.
On the go this weekend! Will catch up Monday if I'm not able to do things on mobile.

Thanks! I don't have a DPL lined up, so edit away.

Schedule-wise, I'm hoping to do a section/chapter per week, but it all depends on other obligations.

I'll save redrun some work and volunteer for DPL duty.
It will be great to work with a professional.

Thanks Tricia! Even though history was one of my worst subjects in school (and I'm still not that great at remembering a lot of it), I've developed a growing fascination with narrating history. I love discovering and sharing interesting stories from the past, and I'm glad that I'll be able to share some of the stories of people from your region.

Alright! For this time, I've updated the MW for you. Here's what I did:
- Click on the "BC Admin" link just below the Magic Window, to get to BC screen (we call this the Section Compiler)
- Paste the link from the uploader into the "Listen URL" column, and press Enter to save
- Put the duration into the "Notes" column, and click the Save button
- Click in the "Status" Column, and switch it to "Ready for PL"

Next time, as the soloist/Book Coordinator, you'll do that yourself. If you run into any trouble, you can find more detailed instructions linked in my first post. Happy reading!

Sorry! I'm so in the habit of working on collaborative projects that I completely forgot the change in protocol for solo projects. I'll get it next time, I promise!

Excellent reading!
If you would trim off one second at the end so the silence is closer to 5 seconds, we'll be golden!

I just double-checked my edit in Reaper, and silence at the end is precisely 5 seconds. I'm not sure why it's adding an extra second to the end when exporting.
