Target completion date:

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I'm happy to set this up a bit later. Sounds interesting indeed.

PA: Given the way he set up the template, I think he'll do fine BCing this. He will definitely need a DPL, though.

As I said, your template looks good and the MW has arrived!

I'm a bit sceptical as to needing only 10 sections; some of the chapters look pretty long with 30+ pages.
Remember that we operate with a maximum length per section of 74 min (so that it can fit on a CD). Depending on your reading speed, that's maybe 10,000 words or so. Also, most listeners prefer sections of roughly 30 minutes (4000 words), and in a work like this, it's probably a good idea. However, this is your decision as the soloist. You can add sections yourself at any time (but only an admin can delete them).

Anyway, here's the fun stuff: As a soloist, you're now your very own BC (book coordinator) and responsible to keep your MW (Magic Window) updated.
First thing to do is to create a new password for our workflow by clicking on the link underneath the MW. This password will work for all projects where you are the BC or DPL and it also works for the uploader.

Once you get into the workflow, here is a document that helps you set up your MW properly and keep it updated:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Soloists:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window

Let me know if you have questions or problems.

Have fun!
Cheers, Ava.

Thank you, Ava!

You advice is well-taken; once I tear into the book more deeply, I will try to find organic stopping points to keep around the thirty minute mark. I managed to get into the BC backend, now I'll start on my readings while we wait for a DPL.

Cheers,

I am still alive, just struggling with the toddler flu. I have one part recorded, just need to get the energy to process the file and I’ll have it up.

Sorry about the flu thing...
If you're a toddler, I'm afraid you'll need parental permission to record for us.
And probably some help too.

:P

Thanks for checking in!

As mentioned above, as a soloist, you're your very own book coordinator and responsible to keep your MW (Magic Window) updated.
That includes entering links to your files, the length of the recording, and changing the status to "Ready for PL".

Here's a how-to:

Let me know if you need help with anything.
