Hi Steve! Section 21 is PL ok. Oh, who doesn't love a chapter with much philosophical and grateful hallucinations!

Thank you. And I agree, this chapter almost makes you want to get lost in the snow!

Hello again Christine - I hope you are well!
Here is Section 22, at 15.45 - a slighter shorter recording marking the final installment of the 'Snow' sequence. I won't spoil it for you by telling you whether Hans finally gets through the storm and returns to the sanitorium safely... (though I expect you will guess!)

Hi Steve, I am well but my daughter has covid. We live in the same house so its quarantine protocol here. I can PL this today. You are right about my guess. What would be the point without Hans and his reflections!

Section 22 is PL ok. I though this was going to be a turning point for Hans -the student surpasses the master(s). Alas, he forgot to bring a journal on his ski trip!
Best,
Christine

Thanks as always Christine! So sorry to hear about your daughter's Covid - and the quarantine. Here I have a few friends similarly stricken currently, though my wife and I seem to have (magically?) escaped the virus since the beginning.

Wow! I only got it once. My daughter's third time, but she is a teacher.

Hello Steve,

I'm just checking in to reiterate my thanks that you're doing this, and lend a little support ... for there's still a bit to do!

Hang in there!

Best, Kirsten

Thank you Kirsten, battling deep snow and treacherous syntax in equal measure but Christine's PL dedication - along with your kind thoughts! - are always there warming up the landscape. Steve

Dear Christine.
Great news, cousin Joachim returns to the Berkhof! I think I am almost as excited as Hans Castorp to see his return.....

Hi Steve,
Yay! Your favorite character, just the bro to keep you company in this extremely meritorious journey! This is in line for PL. It will happen either today or tomorrow.
Can't wait! Though.... wait a minute... that means he's had a relapse. :|
Your admirer,
Christine

Yes, for us and for Joachim, it is a bitter-sweet arrival in the mountains as you will realise when you begin listening......

Dear Steve,
Section 23 is PL ok. A certain other person returning too! I am glad the boys are having some laughs upon reunion!
Thanks!
Christine
