Thanks, Laura; I'm just grateful that I'm not living near Etna or Grindavik.

Have a lovely weekend.

Laura, I was looking ahead through the book, making a note of chapter titles, when I found a corrupt page in the pdf from archive.org. It's in the chapter "A Night With Thieves". I found a copy on google books, and saved the missing page as a jpg.

Here's the google books reference:-
https://books.google.ca/books?dq=it+was+marvelous%2C+humour&hl=fr&id=QzQCAAAAQAAJ&lpg=PA17&ots=vIkxwycMHp&pg=PA17&sa=X&sig=ACfU3U1aQ1oqKimc_Xj1dfLf-xLoFH68CQ&source=bl&ved=2ahUKEwj3jqyyhbTnAhWDY98KHYnPCqcQ6AEwC3oECAcQAQ#v=onepage&q&f=false

I saved the jpg in the librivox non-project folder as a zip file, as the uploader won't accept jpgs. I slipped up with the file name, though; it should read "pdf 451, text 424"

https://librivox.org/uploads/xx-nonproject/pdf_424_text_451_-_py.zip

Thanks so much, Peter. I've downloaded the zip file so I'll be prepared when we get to that particular chapter.

Laura, I thought I'd get that chapter out of the way, so I've recorded and uploaded chapter 35 out of sequence.

pdf pages 445-452 / text pages 418-425 - A Night With Thieves

It's a chilly rainy night here so an atmospheric one for this chapter, but I wasn't expecting our thieves to be quite so young.

35 is PL OK

I agree .. from nine or ten years old! ... though we have them now, too ... for different reasons, though.

Chapter 21 uploaded (pdf pages 306-317) Sketches From an Office Window

Thanks, Laura. I've uploaded chapter 22: Half an hour in a servants' registry office (pdf pages 318-344)

I had to upload twice, as the first attempt gave an error .... but the second upload was very fast, so there may still be a problem.

The second upload took just fine. Chapter 22 had an interesting cast of characters.

I don't know that the following note needs a change but I'll make mention of it in case:
~33:30 'Let me see' is missing from, "Let me see, you was only there four months- was not that all?" (page 312 of text)

Thanks, Laura.

Yes, it was an odd series of interviews. I liked the narrator's sympathy with that maid being interviewed by the spinster. I've added a little to the summary on the first post, to mention his middle-class viewpoint.

Chapter 22 edited and re-uploaded. I still had Miss Primworthy's aup file; I must have chopped that fragment off when I was editing her into the main file.

Chapter 22 is PL OK

I liked that he had sympathy for her, too. I definitely would not have appreciated the spinster opening and reading my personal mail.

I am so curious what the topic will be with a chapter title like The Vampire Bride.

A note for chapter 23:
~3:20 (text pg 321) "is called by the court-crier,"-- was read 'courier'

I've not looked at the next chapter yet; it's certainly an attractive chapter title!

Thanks for catching the error. Chapter 22 edited and re-uploaded. [EDIT: Chapter 23]
