I made the mistake of downloading the latest version of audacity. Seems like I have to relearn it! :? When I record a track, stop and start again it starts on track 2. How can I make it all one track? I want to be able to highlight the whole chapter at one time not individual tracks. I liked the older version better!!!

I don't have the new version, but in the old version, if you go into preferences (Ctrl-P), to Recording, there's a check box for "record on a new track". If it's also in the new version, make sure it's unchecked.

Oh, and to merge them all together, do Ctrl-A (selecting everything) and go to Tracks > Mix > Mix and Render

(that's in the old version, and I hope is the same in the new.)
