Short Mystery and Suspense Collection 16
We are back with the 16th Librivox Short Mystery and Suspense Collection! Readers are invited to select and submit mystery or suspense stories of less than about 60 minutes. The collection will be closed when we have 15 submissions. Please ask if you have concerns about Public Domain status.
Source text Readers are responsible for finding their own Public Domain text. For clarification of what "in the Public Domain" means read https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Copyright_and_Public_Domain. Try to stay with works that run less than 60 minutes [74 minutes is the absolute max]. There is no need to sign-up before recording, as long as the work is clearly in the Public Domain. But please note: Wikisource CAN NOT be used as a source. See "Our policy on text sources."

New to recording? Please see our Newbie Guide to Recording for further instructions. A quick guide to our required technical settings can be found here. When you post your file, please tell the BC what name you would like to use in our catalog.

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

The Adventure of the Cardboard Box

~13:53 I hear "There are objects to the joke theory, no doubt," should be "There are objections to the joke theory, no doubt,"
~14:05 The town is pronounced "Penj" -- you said it correctly earlier, so it is obvious that you changed it 8-)
~30:56 Repeat "something like Aldrige,"
~37:00 Repeat "He was good company"

Good Morning

I have changed the into to match the collection, and edited out the stumble at the end. Thank you for changing it. I think it is better here.

Good Evening:

The Owl On The Moor
By Marc R. Schorer and August W. Derleth
From Weird Tales, September 1928
Read by Dale Grothmann
Time 12:34

Audio at: https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/sms16_owl_dg_128kb.mp3

Text at: https://archive.org/details/Weird_Tales_v12n03_1928-09/page/n43/mode/2up

I will probably have to make a correction, as the instructions say ""Short Mystery and Suspense Collection 15. Name of story by author." and Even though I know this is Number 16, I cut and pasted the instructions, and read what was there. There MAY be other corrections too, So, I would prefer to do all of them at once.

Anyway Emjoy

Dale
