Figured I'd drop a heads up.

Text to Speech is changing; Some services are introducing AI voice cloning.

Looks like it'll get harder and harder to detect.

When one can't hear the difference, is the listener really losing out? :hmm:
But yeah, it'd suck when some readers spend a lot of time and effort and others just feed their text to a software and get a similar effortless result out of it.
This might also shake up the audiobook market. If it's not a big-name book, maybe lesser known authors will be content to have such copied voices read their works?
"You're on Librivox? Pffft. You just like to hear yourself talk."
"Yuuuup."

If I'm "paying" for a human being to read to me, I don't want AI doing it.

Just as, if I'm paying a doctor for an examination and diagnosis, I don't want a PA (physician's assistant) doing it.

FWIW.
