A friend of mine just posted about a cookbook she has from 1917, and it looks ideal for those of you who enjoy cookbooks. Each recipe is preceded by several pages' worth of story, and there are even cute little verses sprinkled throughout. I'll admit, it's cracking me up a little!

This is precious. I thought preceding a recipe with a long story was something from the internet age.
