Both PL ok! Thanks for your patience. I can't decide if this story is funny, or just sad. It seems to be a bit of both, really. :hmm:

Great job with all the Scots! This was a nice story.

19:45-23:13 This portion is about 5 dB louder than the rest of the recording. If you need help adjusting the volume for that bit, let us know. It's a pretty easy fix, though.

I could tackle that fix if Freso doesn’t respond, as I’ve done quite a bit of editing on that file already. Wouldn’t want to see all our hard work go to waste.

Cheers,
Winnifred

Sure, if you wanted to go ahead and do it, I'm sure Freso would be appreciative.

I tried reducing it by 5 dB, but that reduced this section well below the rest of the recording, as there's a lot of variation in the volume throughout. I think the volume is particularly noticeable in this section because there's some clipping. So I tried for 2.5 instead, which I think yields a bit less variation.

Here's the file: https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/moonendureth_12_buchan_128kb.mp3 (39:06)

Let me know if you think it needs more tweaking.

Thanks,
Winnifred

Ah yes, I see what you mean now about the variation. That was a good call! I just checked it using the ReplayGain plugin in Audacity and took the numbers it told me, but this sounds great! Definitely PL ok now.
