History of LibriVox

At least once in the past, someone has tried to collect information and anecdotes about the creation of LibriVox and its development through the years. Does anyone know where the thread/s is/are? Michele Fry and I have been chatting, and she pointed out that this could be important to us (especially as the older of us pass away ... I should be off soon!).

It might be worth keeping a sticky thread somewhere and/or a wiki article.

Surely is a good idea, and peaks my interest. Reminds me of big companies where all the staff changes and one day the network has a problem, and the question 'where is the server' is answered, 'we don't know, the wire just goes into the wall'...

faintest ink lasts longer than the strongest memory.

Peter, I believe this is what you're looking for:

This was the beginning of a dissertation by the same user, which was completed in 2018:

Thanks, Ava; I have a visitor coming shortly, but I'll look at the threads over the next couple of days.

There is also a wiki page with a very brief history. It could be updated with links or additional information:

Thanks for the link.

Perhaps there should be one more fundamental principle: 6) LibriVox recordings are read by human beings. I suppose you could say that's a part of
3) Librivox is powered by volunteers
.

In 2012 Bob Gonzalez compered a series in the Librivox Community Podcast ( nos 126 - 130) called Librivox - The Pioneer Days. This includes a lot of information about the early days of Librivox and interviews with founding members.

Thanks, everyone; I have a guest with me at the moment, but I'll try to put all these together in the next week or so.
