PL note:
You missed your first line Who will bid me welcome?
You got it the second time. You say it twice, once before you come on and again as part of your next speech.

btw: I don't think I have heard irascible pronounced with a hard c before

Oops. Sorry about that. Here's the correction: "https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/shakuntala_durvasas_1.mp3"
I'm not sure I've ever heard the word irascible spoken, so I pronounced is as in school :0). Always willing to learn though.

Here at long last are the PL notes for Act 1 Stage Directions, my apologies for the delay :(

Hi dc
You have corrected most of the problems noted earlier, but there are still some errors.

PL Notes for act 1:
at 5.36 text is after many salutations but the word salutations is not clear
at 9.40 text is Shakuntala starts to walk away but I hear She starts....
at 10.49 missing line Cries behind the scenes
at 11.29 text is The Same but I hear The Hermitage
at 12.13 words his wreath and with his bow are almost inaudible
at 14.50 directions Right Shakuntala and Left King are in the wrong order
at 15.40-15.56 directions here are almost inaudible
around 17.27 directions are almost inaudible
at 17.40 text is The same but I hear The hermitage
a lot of the directions in scene 2 will need amplifying before editing

As a general comment, you have only left gaps of 1-2 seconds between directions, it would help the editor if you left longer gaps in the other acts.
Dear Alan

Here's the updated file link:
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/shakuntala_stagedirections_1_128kb.mp3
19:34

Apologies for the delay, hope I got it right this time.
And thank you for the pointers, amplify more and leave more gaps in the next two sections. I have finished recording them, will start editing now.

Perhaps because I reduced the line-in volume too much to block out the sound of the rain outside then hit noise-reduction more than twice that it affected my volume :(

Thank you
dc

Sorry, but the faults noted at 9.40, 12.13 & 14.50 still seem to be there.

I've no idea how to make "grove" and "love" rhyme and still make sense to my ears, so I haven't tried.

Thank you for not stretching the rhymes. Sometimes I think the rhyming is meant to be only visual in the text - which makes little sense when done in a play script....

Thanks, Todd

Sorry, but the faults noted at 9.40, 12.13 & 14.50 still seem to be there.
Dear Alan

I've listened to all the time stamps numerous times and its left me a bit confused:
for 9:40 - I have read "she starts to walk away..." all along. I had further amplified that portion assuming I was too soft perhaps, but I promise its there :?
for 12:13 - here again I had amplified the marked area
at 14:50 - page 15, line 2 - L King and line 7 - R Shakuntala - is the order in which I have read it .

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/shakuntala_stagedirections_1_128kb.mp3
duration 19:34, volume 91.1
I may not be able to amplify this file further. However I am willing to re record this section if you wish.

Here are the next two sections:
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/shakuntala_stagedirections_2_128kb.mp3
duration 07:13, volume 90.7

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/shakuntala_stagedirections_3_128kb.mp3
duration 09:22, volume 90.7

Best regards

I think the problem with the line at 9.40 (page 10) is that the stage direction starts with Sha. which is an abbreviation for Shakuntala but which you are reading as She. The line should be read as Shakuntala starts to walk away up centre

The other issues are fixed
