I hope this is the right place to ask for this kind of help.
I would like to record the play "The death and the fool" for the One Act Play Collection. I found this source on archive https://archive.org/details/germanclassicsof18franuoft/page/492/mode/1up which is PD in the USA, but I would like to know if it is PD in Europe.
The Author Hugo von Hofmannsthal died in 1929, so we are good there, but I can't find anything about the translator John Heard, Jr.
Can anyone with better googling skills than mine give me a hand?
If it helps, I believe he was born in 1889.
