Ah yes, it's coming back to me now...this writer's penchant for hopping between scenes unannounced and catching you off-guard. Part of his mystique, I think. (Makes me want to read 'The Sound and the Fury" again, I'm sure I probably missed something.) As a narrator, I really don't know how t handle it...can't undertone "7 period page separation" to warn the listener of the scene jump, as the publisher (or perhaps Faulkner himself) does for the reader. And your voice isn't going to be any different. Maybe a slightly longer pause is the thing...but nott TOO long, it's supposed to be jarring I think. Anybody have any thoughts on how to help the listener keep up to what's happening whilst preserving the writer's intent, please share.

Still struggling (after a hardware failure) to get my voice to sound the way I want it to, but I guess this is narration, not singing, and nobody but me will probably even notice, so I'll let it fly. It's certainly understandable and Checker gave me a check mark, so here it is.
Thank you,
Brize
Thank you!

Section 1: The recording is PL OK. But the filename needs to be rectified to mosquitoes_01_faulkner_128kb.mp3 (removing "_2" at the end).marisad6 wrote: ↑May 18th, 2023, 6:29 am Here is a revised version of Prologue Part 1. Please let me know if this is OK.

Ran into another 'Faulknerism' that may not be picked up upon in the audio version: his juxtapositions of 'sea' and 'see', especially since he repeats one or the other several times. (Undertoning each word's spelling would clarify it, of course, but at a high cost of cumbersomeness, no doubt. I don't think he would approve.)
Thank you,
Brize

@czandra I just uploaded it. I'm not sure if you're one of the approvers or not, but here it is if you're able to push it along.
